We had 60 seconds to ask Hayley West, Account Manager, some quick-fire questions. Here’s what she had to say:
What part of the world do you call home? I’m based in Redditch in Worcestershire, which is just outside Birmingham and I’ve been living here for the last 10 years.
What is your New Years Resolution? To exercise more … I got myself a puppy during the first lockdown, a beagle called Bailey, who is now 10 months old, he is definitely helping with my resolution!
Who is your favourite music band? Destinys Child back in the day, I like a variety of different styles of music and l have so many favourites, I tend to listen to the same songs over and over by various bands and artists … (I’m at that age where I make up my own words). I can’t wait to get on the dancefloor again after this pandemic!
What is your favourite holiday destination? I’ve been lucky enough to travel to some amazing destinations. I would have to say Canada is my number one. I had the opportunity to go through the Rocky Mountains onboard the Rocky Mountaineer train and had an amazing itinerary in Gold Service whilst visiting Jasper, Banff and Lake Louise. The service was incredible from start to finish – I would 100% recommend this experience. And if I got to do this trip again I would definitely combine with an Alaska cruise.
All-time favourite movie?Ohhh I have so many favourites. I like a good thriller, something that gets the cogs going but also love a chick flick that makes me laugh. One of my absolute favourites being Bridemaids or Bad Moms (a movie I can definitely relate to with having 2 children myself).
Favourite type of food? I’m quite partial to Italian food, love pasta and can’t say no to a pizza and yes I’d say pineapple does belong on a pizza. 😊
You have been at Traveltek as an Account Manager for over three years, what does a typical day look like for you?The years have flown by, and I’m very passionate about my role here and our industry. Every day is different and presents new challenges, although I’ve been in the travel industry for 20+ years, I’m always learning new things on the tech side. My working days have changed somewhat as the account management team are usually travelling up and down the country visiting our partners, so during these times, my day is usually taken up on Zoom calls supporting our clients with everyday questions, demos and discussing new products they may wish to explore.
What technology product do you think will be a game-changer for Travel Companies in 2021?Robotic Process Automation (RPA) will be a game-changer for Traveltek this year. The document scanning aspect will be a big hit with our customers, assisting with manual processes when the booking volumes start to increase. RPA will provide significant cost savings for our customer’s businesses and can be utilised across many different departments, from finance to sales delivery. Up to 66% of your back office manual processes could be automated utilising this technology.
